Coal

My daughter (age 3 1/2) just asked for chocolate off the tree (fifth time today after express explanation she gets no more today). I told her if she asks again I might have to tell santa to break out the coal for her pressent this year.
"What's Coal Mummy?"
"A black rock"
"But what does it look like?"

so I found this for her (purchase coal from here - festive sack not included)

I'm guessing Coal from Santa was invented, back in the day, by coal using winter dwelling desperate parents of inquisitive, yet somewhat naughty 3year olds.
Since it's over 25deg outside and our woodburner doesn't know what coal is... maybe we should come up with a Southern Summer Christmas alternative???
We just picked up a load of this for the garden.. would that do?
